Shamli, Dec. 17 -- A man allegedly murdered his wife and two minor daughters following a domestic dispute in Garhi Daulat village under Kandhla police station area of Shamli district, police said on Wednesday.

Police said the accused, Farooq, confessed during interrogation that he killed his 32-year-old wife Tahira and daughters Afrin (12) and Sareen (5) on December 10. He buried their bodies in a pit about nine feet deep inside his house.

The victims had been missing for six days. Suspicion arose after Farooq's father, Daud, filed a complaint with the police on Tuesday evening. Farooq was taken into custody and initially tried to mislead investigators before confessing.
