Kolkata, Dec. 13 -- A thought-provoking documentary titled "I Am a Citizen Too", the brainchild of Calcutta High Court advocate Sampurna Ghosh, draws attention to the urgent need for fair reintegration policies for individuals released from Correctional Homes.
The documentary, screened at the Indian Museum Hall on Friday, opens up the inner world of West Bengal's Correctional Homes, spaces that, over the years, have evolved from punitive institutions into centres of reform, counselling and skill-building.
Yet, the film makes it painfully clear that the real battle begins only after release, where prejudice, lack of employment and social rejection often erase the progress they achieved inside.
