Chennai, Feb. 23 -- A day after initiating the process of seat sharing talks for the upcoming Assembly elections, the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu, heading the formidable Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA), continued its parleys with MDMK of Vaiko and with the Muslim outfit Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK) headed by M H Jawahirullah, MLA.
Yesterday, as per its long followed tradition, the DMK opened the negotiations with its long time ally, the Indian union Muslim League (IUML) which had demanded five seats.
When the DMK said it could allot only two seats, one less than it was offered in the 2021 polls to accommodate new allies in the Front, the IUML requested to allocate at least four seats and promised to come back after holding discussions ...
