Pratapgarh, Oct. 20 -- What was meant to be a joyful Diwali celebration turned into a heartbreaking tragedy for a family in Rampur Mustarka village under Kotwali Dehat, Pratapgarh. A section of their house collapsed today, resulting in the deaths of a grandmother and her young grandson, while another child sustained injuries.
Ramakant Mishra, a local farmer, lives with his family in the village. His son, Rakesh Mishra, drives an auto-rickshaw.
The family had completed Diwali cleaning and were decorating the house. During the preparations, Rakesh's two sons, Ayush Mishra (10) and Shivansh Mishra (8), climbed onto the roof and hung decorative lights (jhalars) from the front parapet railing made of bricks.
