Kolhapur, Jan. 30 -- District Chief Session Judge Ms. Kavita Agrawal sentenced accused Mahamadtallha Mussafa Sheikh to twenty years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 for sexually assaulting a minor boy.
The incident occurred on November 18, 2021 at Yadav Nagar, a suburb of the city.
According to Public Prosecutor Ms. Sujata Ingale, the 27-year-old accused, a resident of Yadav Nagar and an Urdu teacher, sexually assaulted a ten-year-old boy who regularly attended his class at one of the witness's residences. The accused also threatened the boy not to disclose the incident to anyone.
The victim later informed his father about the incident, who subsequently lodged a complaint at the Rajarampuri Police Station.
