Los Angeles, Jan. 20 -- Disney's blockbuster sequel 'Zootopia 2' has reached another major milestone, becoming the highest-grossing animated film in Hollywood history, according to Variety.
The film has amassed USD 1.7 billion at the global box office, surpassing Disney's Inside Out 2 (2024), which previously held the record with USD 1.69 billion. Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, Zootopia 2 now ranks as the ninth highest-grossing film of all time worldwide, overtaking titles such as The Lion King and Jurassic World, Deadline reported.
China's 'Ne Zha 2', however, continues to hold the overall record for the highest-grossing animated film globally, with box office earnings of USD 2.25 billion.
