Bengaluru, Jan. 20 -- The Karnataka government has suspended senior Indian Police Service officer and DGP (Civil Rights Enforcement) K Ramchandra Rao following the circulation of alleged obscene video clips on social media.

The clips, which went viral on Monday, reportedly show Rao engaging in inappropriate behaviour with multiple women in uniform at his official workplace, triggering political uproar and public condemnation.

According to the official suspension order, Rao's conduct is "unseemly for a government employee" and has "embarrassed the government."The order added that the state government is "prima facie satisfied" that Rao should remain suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
