New Delhi, March 6 -- The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued an aerodrome licence to Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) for the Noida International Airport located at Jewar in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Budh Nagar district, clearing the way for the airport to begin commercial flight operations.

Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu said the project will enhance connectivity in the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh, boost tourism, attract investment, and help reduce congestion at existing airports in the region.
