Puri, Feb. 18 -- Devotees planning a pilgrimage to Puri are increasingly falling victim to online fraudsters who are duping them with fake room bookings at Bhakta Nivas facilities run by the Sri Jagannath Temple administration.
The temple authorities operate four Bhakta Nivas accommodations for pilgrims, with room reservations officially accepted through the temple's authorized platform.
However, cybercriminals have allegedly created multiple fraudulent booking websites and online travel portals, misleading unsuspecting devotees with attractive offers and discounted rates.
Despite several complaints reported last year, victims claim that no strong action was taken to effectively curb the growing menace.
