Mumbai, Sept. 7 -- The beloved Lord Ganesha was bid farewell across Mumbai and nearby areas today.

Due to the preparations by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), citizens and Ganesh mandals faced no difficulties during the immersion, said Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde here this evening.

The corporation had arranged more than 250 artificial lakes, making it convenient for household Ganesh idols to be immersed. Recognizing the duty performed by the Mumbai Police in maintaining law and order, Shinde congratulated the Municipal Commissioner, all municipal staff, and the police force.
