Lucknow, Feb. 16 -- Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya congratulated the Indian cricket team following their emphatic victory over Pakistan in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, saying the win brought pride and honour to the nation.

"When India wins, the respect and honour of the Tiranga increases, and when Pakistan loses, Pakistanis cry," Maurya told reporters.

Maurya also criticised Pakistan's earlier reluctance around the fixture. "This whole drama by the Pakistan cricket team about not playing the match against India was out of fear of defeat," he said.
