Chennai, Jan. 10 -- The Depression over southwest Bay of Bengal off Northeast Sri Lanka coastmoved west-northwestwards with a speed of 15 kmph during the past six hours and lay centred at0830 hours today, over the same region.
It is now centred about 50 km east-southeast of Mullaittivu (Sri Lanka), 60 km north-northeast ofTrincomalee (Sri Lanka), 140 km east-southeast of Jaffna (Sri Lanka), 250 km southeast of Karaikaland 450 km south-southeast of Chennai.
It is very likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and cross north Sri Lanka coast betweenTrincomalee and Jaffna close to Mullaittivu as a Depression by today noon/afternoon, Met Officesaid.
