Lucknow, Jan. 17 -- Uttar Pradesh experienced the densest fog of the season on Saturday, resulting in extremely poor visibility and a series of devastating road accidents across the state.

Conditions were so bad that even vehicle headlights were barely visible on roads. So far, more than 40 vehicles have collided in at least 12 districts, including Meerut, Fatehpur, and Barabanki.

The accidents have claimed five lives, including a one-and-a-half-year-old girl, and left over 50 people injured.
