New Delhi, April 14 -- Three days after a serving army Brigadier and his son were brutally assaulted by miscreants in Vasant Enclave of Southwest Delhi, Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Tuesday directed the police to provide security to Brigadier PS Arora and his family.

The officer and his son had objected to the miscreants consuming alcohol in public outside their residence, which led to the assault.

On Monday evening, almost 45 hours after the incident Delhi police filed a First Information Report (FIR) in the case.
