Pankaj JainNew Delhi, Jan. 1 -- The Delhi Directorate of Education has filed a complaint with the Civil Lines police station against the circulation of "false and misleading information" on social media related to a circular on counting of stray dogs.
In its complaint, the department said unknown and mischievous persons are spreading incorrect claims that school teachers were directed to count stray dogs. The department clarified that no such direction was ever issued.
According to the complaint, the circular dated November 20, 2025, was issued only to comply with directions of the Supreme Court of India in a suo motu writ petition titled ''City hounded by strays, kids pay price''.
