New Delhi, Feb. 10 -- Delhi Government on Tuesday appointed cricketer Shikhar Dhawan as the Brand Ambassador for the 'Delhi Khel Mahakumbh', a major sports initiative aimed at promoting grassroots talent across the national capital.
The announcement was made after Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood met Dhawan in the presence of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
The Delhi Khel Mahakumbh is scheduled to commence from February 13.
Speaking after the meeting, Sood said Dhawan voluntarily agreed to take on the responsibility after witnessing the Delhi Government's commitment towards strengthening sports infrastructure and encouraging youth participation in sports.
