New Delhi, Feb. 5 -- In an attempt to control the menacing pollution levels in the National Capital Region (NCR), the Delhi government, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, is undertaking a pilot project on cloud seeding and has paid Rs. 37,93,420 to the IIT as the first instalment.

Minister of State, Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh said in Rajya Sabha in reply to a question that at present, cloud seeding is at trial stage for providing relief as an emergency measure during high air-pollution levels.
