New Delhi, April 29 -- The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee on Wednesday criticised the one-day special session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly called yesterday to discuss the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, terming it as unproductive and alleging that public funds were wasted on political messaging rather than governance.

Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav said the session was convened primarily to pass a censure motion against Opposition parties over the Women's Reservation Bill.

He claimed that while Opposition parties support 33 per cent reservation for women, they had raised concerns about its linkage with delimitation and a fresh census, arguing that it could delay its implementation.
