New Delhi, Aug. 18 -- Amid a marked rise in the Yamuna water levels, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today carried out an extensive review of the city government's flood management and preparedness during a visit to the banks of Yamuna river and adjoining areas, beginning the inspections from Asita Ghat, and going on to Chhath Ghat, DM East Office, drain regulator No. 12 and the Control Room.
The CM has said that in view of the water being released from Hathnikund Barrage, and heavy rainfall in the Upper Yamuna region, the Central Water Commission has issued an advisory that the water level of the river in Delhi may rise up to 206 meters.
