New Delhi, April 24 -- Heatwaves in isolated parts of Delhi baked the city as temperatures continued to rise over the last few days.
On Friday, Safdarjung, Delhi's base weather station, recorded a maximum temperature of 41.9 degrees Celsius, logging the hottest day of the season so far.
According to the data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heatwaves were witnessed at two stations, Ridge and Lodhi Road, in the national capital, with maximum temperatures exceeding 4.5 degrees above normal.
At Lodhi Road, the maximum temperature touched 41.8 deg C, departing 4.8 notches above normal. While at the Ridge, the temperatures soared higher and settled at 43.1 deg C, departing 4.7 degrees above normal.
