Vijayawada, Feb. 13 -- Amid a heated debate in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council on Friday on the clearance of arrears of fee reimbursement, the Opposition YSRCP MLAs accused the government of delaying payments and demanded clarity on the release schedule.
However, IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh defended the government actions, asserting that the claims made by the YSRCP were misleading and politically motivated.
The Minister insisted that the government was taking necessary steps and that the issue is being handled appropriately.
The YSRCP members claimed that pending dues amount to Rs 7,800 crore, yet the government has issued orders to release only Rs 1,200 crore so far.
