Patna, July 11 -- In a major breakthrough for interstate water relations, Bihar Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary today said that long-pending water disputes with Jharkhand and West Bengal have been successfully resolved.

Choudhary told news persons here that the issue was resolved following initiatives of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Expressing his gratitude towards the Union Home Minister, Choudhary said that the dispute between Bihar and Jharkhand over the Indrapuri Reservoir Project on the Sone River was persisting since the bifurcation of Bihar in the year 2000. This issue has been resolved following the initiatives of the Home Minister.
