Melbourne, Jan. 25 -- The excitement continues to build in Melbourne after Australian fan favourite Alex de Minaur produced another clinical performance to defeat world No.10 Alexander Bublik and reach the Australian Open men's singles quarterfinals for the second successive year.

De Minaur, seeded sixth, cruised past the in-form Kazakh 6-4, 6-1, 6-1 in a surprisingly one-sided fourth-round contest on Rod Laver Arena, extending his impressive run at the season's first Grand Slam.

Bublik, who had not lost a match in 2026 prior to Sunday and was making his debut on the centre court, struggled to find rhythm, particularly on serve.
