Hyderabad, Feb. 21 -- The Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana, on Saturday detected violations in 166 medical shops across the state during a special drive conducted to curb the illegal sale of habit-forming drugs.

According to a press note issued here, the raids were carried out on February 21 at retail medical shops to check the unauthorised sale of prescription medicines, including codeine-based cough syrups and tablets such as alprazolam, nitrazepam, tramadol, zolpidem, and tapentadol. The drive focused on drugs classified under Schedule H1 and Schedule X of the Drugs Rules.
