Mysuru, May 2 -- A grand mini Dasara-style procession will mark the beginning of the celebrations of former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa's 50-year political journey in Chitradurga on May 8, his son and BJP State President Vijayendra Yediyurappa said on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters here, Vijayendra said Yediyurappa will make a ceremonial entry into Chitradurga city at 5 pm on May 8, accompanied by more than 25 cultural troupes, as part of the "Abhimanotsava" organised by his supporters.

He said the main stage programme will be held on May 9, and union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to arrive by noon to take part in the felicitation event.
