Lucknow, Feb. 4 -- The cyber police on Wednesday busted an inter-state gang involved in cheating people through a fake clone app of a share trading company, uncovering fraud worth Rs 356.65 crore. Seven accused were arrested- four from Assam, two from Mumbai, and one from West Bengal.
SP Kunwar Anupam Singh said the case was registered on October 14, 2025, following a complaint by Bhaskar Pandey, a resident of Vivekanand Nagar, Sultanpur. Pandey was lured through a Facebook advertisement promising high returns in share trading. After joining a WhatsApp group via a link, he was duped of Rs 10.11 lakh between April 25 and May 26, 2025.
