Imphal, May 13 -- The Cultural Forum, Manipur paid tributes to Pandit Ningthoukhongjam Khelchandra on his 108th birth anniversary at the State Central Library here on Tuesday.
Prof Koijam Shantibala, President of the Forum, said Khelchandra's contributions are immense as he translated large numbers of ancient Manipuri texts into modern Manipuri. Besides, Khelchandra worked as a pioneer historian and linguist by writing Manipuri history from a new perspective. His works in English and Manipuri are so vast that Manipur may not get another person like him.
