New Delhi, Feb. 3 -- The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Tuesday raised sharp concerns over the newly announced trade deal between India and the United States, warning that the agreement, as outlined by US President Donald Trump, could undermine Indian industry, agriculture and national sovereignty if implemented in its current form.
In a statement issued by its Polit Bureau, the CPI(M) said the celebratory response in sections of the corporate media was "completely misplaced," noting that the full text of the agreement has not yet been made public. "It is only when the full scope and details of the trade deal are available, one can make a proper assessment," the party said.
