New Delhi, Nov. 29 -- The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has strongly demanded that the Election Commission of India (ECI) suspend the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, calling the nationwide exercise "chaotic, arbitrary and dangerous."In a statement titled "Stop Flawed SIR," issued on Saturday by the party politbureau, the CPI(M) fiercely criticized the rushed nature of the revision. The party alleged that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are being burdened with "impossible deadlines" for door-to-door verification, leading to an irresponsible administrative process.
