Hyderabad, Feb. 8 -- The Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPI(M) Telangana State Committee has demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the fire that broke out at the State Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad, where crucial evidence and documents related to several important cases are stored.
In a statement, CPI(M) State Secretary John Wesley said the incident had raised serious suspicions, particularly as digital evidence related to sensational cases such as the phone tapping case, the Nayeem case, land scams, the cash-for-votes case and other political corruption matters was reportedly housed in the affected section. He said the timing of the fire, when investigations in these cases were at a crucial stage, had added to the doubts.
