Patna, Sept. 11 -- The Communist Party of India (CPI) has called for construction of multi-purpose dams on the Kosi, Kamla and Bagmati rivers to provide a permanent solution to floods, drought and electricity shortages in Bihar.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at the on going 25th State Conference of the party commencing from September 8 .

The conference which would conclude on September 12 passed several resolutions, including withdrawal of the Waqf Amendment Bill, review of land acquisition under the Bharatmala Project and granting government employee status to Anganwadi, mid-day meal, ASHA and other scheme workers.
