Hyderabad, March 11 -- Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, State Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) in Telangana and an MLA, on Wednesday said the party had given a call for a "Chalo Assembly" protest on March 20 to press for the allocation of house sites to the poor. He also announced state-wide protests to protect Singareni Collieries Company Limited.

Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, the CPI leader said the party would hold week-long protests to safeguard Singareni and organise state-wide demonstrations on March 16 against the stance of the United States on international issues.
