Patna, April 27 -- The Communist Party of India (CPI) Monday alleged that the proposed modern township scheme in Bihar is a conspiracy to displace farmers and the poor.
State Secretary Ram Naresh Pandey alleged that with the formation of a government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state, efforts have begun to evict vulnerable sections under the pretext of development.
Pandey said that the decision to impose a ban on the purchase and sale of land in 11 cities in the name of modern townships is "shocking and beyond comprehension." He demanded that the state government immediately lift the restrictions on land registration.
