Kannur, Jan. 31 -- CPI(M) State Secretary M V Govindan, MLA, has demanded a comprehensive and effective investigation into the complaints raised by the family of businessman and Confident Group Chairman C J Roy of Kerala, who died by suicide in Bengaluru yesterday during an Income Tax (IT) raid at his office.

Talking to news persons here on Saturday, Govindan said "There was a possibility of interference by Central Agencies", and added that circumstances surrounding what happened during the raid in Bengaluru were still unclear.

He said the family has alleged that Roy's death occurred in the backdrop of the IT raid and claimed that the raid continued for nearly one-and-a-half hours even after Roy's death.
