Malappuram, Nov. 4 -- The Manjeri Fast Track POCSO court on Tuesday sentenced a woman and stepfather to a culminative 18 years of rigorous imprisonment in the case of raping a minor girl by giving her alcohol. The sentence will run concurrently, that means a total of 40 years.
Judge AM Ashraf also imposed a fine of Rs 11,7500 each and also directed that the amount should be handed over to victims. If they fail to remit the fine amount, an additional 20 years of imprisonment will be awarded.
The court sentenced a young woman from Thiruvananthapuram, who had separated from her husband and started living with a young man from Palakkad in a rented quarters at Malappuram.
