Patna, Feb. 23 -- : In a late evening development, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Patna on Sunday refused to grant transit remand of Bihar Fire Services Inspector General Sunil Nayak to the Andhra Pradesh Police.
The Andhra Pradesh Police had arrested Sunil Nayak in connection with a case registered in the state and produced him before the Patna court seeking transit remand.
After hearing the application and examining the documents submitted, In-charge Chief Judicial Magistrate Sunil Kumar declined to grant transit remand.
The court, however, ordered Nayak's release after he submitted an undertaking stating that he would seek appropriate relief from the competent jurisdictional court within one month.
