Srinagar, April 20 -- A court in south Kashmir on Monday convicted five former storekeepers of the Food and Supplies Department in an over three decades-old misappropriation case involving embezzlement of food grains and empty bags.

The Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Court Anantnag, Masarat Roohi, convicted Abdul Khaliq Shah, Ghulam Nabi Mir, Mohammad Shafi Rather, Ghulam Hassan Hajam, and Muzaffar Ahmad Bichoo under Section 5(2) of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, 2006, read with Section 409 of the Ranbir Penal Code.
