Hamirpur (HP), Feb. 18 -- A couple sustained serious burn injuries in an explosion while lighting a fire at their home in the Barsar area of Hamirpur district on Tuesday evening.
The injured have been identified as Kulwant and his wife.
According to reports, the couple was using a chemical to ignite the fire when it suddenly flared up.
An official spokesperson said the woman's clothes caught fire within moments. In an attempt to save her, Kulwant tried to extinguish the flames but suffered severe burns to his hands.
With the help of family members and residents, both were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Barsar. After administering first aid, doctors referred them to AIIMS Bilaspur for further treatment, citing their critical condition....
