Kozhikode, April 11 -- Three members of a family tragically drowned in the Puliyavu river at Nadapuram in Kozhikode district on Saturday evening.
The deceased were identified as Ansar, his wife Suhada Mariam, and his daughter Kensa Mariam of Puliyav Areekundil in Nadapuram. The tragic incident took place in the Puliyav river at around 4 pm on Saturday.
Preliminary reports indicate the family went to the river to wash clothes. The child, Kensa, accidentally slipped into deep water, and her parents drowned while attempting to rescue her. The locals and the fire force pulled them out of the river and rushed them to the Nadapuram Hospital. It is reported that they died on the spot.
