Palampur, Dec. 21 -- Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Saturday said that cooperatives are the soul of Himachal Pradesh, with nearly 20 lakh people associated with the sector and an economic footprint of about Rs 50,000 crore.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the International Year of Cooperatives-2025 at Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, Agnihotri, who attended the event as the chief guest, said the state has played a pioneering role in shaping the cooperative movement in the country. He also visited the cooperative exhibition and unveiled the Himachal Pradesh Cooperative Policy-2025, formally launching it through a short video presentation.
