Aizawl, Jan. 19 -- Amid growing concerns over illegal immigration and unregulated trading activities, a district-level consultation meeting was convened on Monday at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall in Lawngtlai town of south Mizoram, which shares international borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh.
The meeting was chaired by Lawngtlai Deputy Commissioner Donny Lalruatsanga, who, while welcoming the participants, said the steady influx of undocumented immigrants from neighbouring countries and the absence of effective regulation in trading practices had emerged as serious challenges for the district.
