Puducherry, March 23 -- Consul General of France in Puducherry Catherine Suard inaugurated discipline specific National Resource Centre (NRC) for French Studies in Pondicherry University (PU) on Saturday.
Union Ministry of Human Resource Development ( MHRD) has sanctioned NRC for French studies to the UGC - Human Resource Development Centre, PU to conduct annual Orientation Programme of Higher Education faculty through SWAYAM.
Speaking on the occasion, Catherine Suard stressed the importance of multi-culturalism in the Franco phone world and said that 6.5 lakhs students in India are studying French.
