Patna, May 21 -- Congress on Wednesday promised to give monthly assistance of Rs 2,500 to women if the party, a constituent of the Grand Alliance, was voted to power in the next Bihar assembly elections slated for October-November this year.
Alka Lamba, National President of women wing of Congress, told media persons here that monthly assistance of Rs 2,500 under " Mai Bahin Yojana " would be given to women if her party, a constituent of Grand Alliance, was voted to power in next Bihar assembly elections scheduled to be held in October-November this year. This scheme was accepted as a common programme of the Grand Alliance for the next Bihar assembly elections, she added.
