Kangra, Jan. 25 -- The Congress party on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Central government over alleged attempts to weaken the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), during a 'MGNREGA Bachao Sangram' programme held at Kholi in the Kangra Assembly constituency.
Addressing the gathering, District Congress President Anurag Sharma accused the PM Modi led government of "deliberately removing Mahatma Gandhi's name" from the scheme and altering its core policy, describing it as a serious blow to Indian democracy.
