New Delhi, Dec. 30 -- Senior Congress leader and party general secretary Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to recall its own verdict on the redefinition of the Aravalli range, calling the move "most necessary and welcome," and urged the apex court to take up three other critical environmental issues suo motu to safeguard India's ecological governance.

In a statement issued a day after the top court recalled its November 20, 2025 judgment on the Aravallis-an order that had been strongly endorsed by the Modi government-Ramesh said the court's intervention had reaffirmed the primacy of environmental protection and constitutional principles.
