New Delhi, Feb. 15 -- The Congress on Sunday alleged that the BJP-led Delhi government has failed to control private schools over fee hikes, claiming that institutions are continuing to charge inflated fees despite assurances from the Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta.

Speaking at an executive meeting of the New Delhi District Congress Committee, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav alleged that the Rekha Gupta government had enacted a law permitting fee increases in private schools but had not ensured effective regulation. He claimed that schools are still collecting what he described as "arbitrary" and inflated fees from parents.
