Deoria, Nov. 28 -- Congress' Uttar Pradesh State President Ajay Rai on Friday visited Maniyapura Tola in Majha Narayan village of Rudrapur, Deoria, to meet the family of deceased Booth Level Officer (BLO) Ranjoo Devi.
He expressed condolences to the bereaved family and demanded financial assistance of Rs 1 crore along with a government job for one of the family members.
Rai alleged that staff members were being subjected to mental stress due to pressure to quickly complete the SIR form. He urged the Election Commission to extend the deadline to provide relief to the employees. Congress' national spokesperson, Akhilesh Pratap Singh was also present during the visit.
