Hyderabad, Feb. 14 -- Senior Congress leaders on Saturday termed the party's victory in the Telangana local body elections as a strong endorsement of the state government's people-centric governance.

In the municipal elections, the ruling Congress won 83 municipalities of 116 and five of corporations that went to the polls on February 11.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, in a post on X, said the Telangana local body poll win clearly reflected public support for the party government's "people-first policies rooted in social justice, dignity and inclusive growth."He expressed gratitude to party workers, stating the victory belonged to them and to the people of Telangana.
