Shimla, Sept. 6 -- Experts, engineers, forest officials and community representatives came together today to reflect on the recent spate of natural disasters in Himachal Pradesh and their linkages with climate change and development policies.

The Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti (HGVS)-organised community dialogue on "Disasters, Development and Climate Crisis", held at YWCA, Mall Road, Shimla, saw the presence of around 55 individuals, including experts, doctors and sociologists.

The dialogue provided a common platform for participants to reflect on recent natural disasters in Himachal Pradesh.

The state has faced severe devastation this monsoon, with 345 lives lost and damages estimated at nearly Rs 4,000 crore.
