Kolkata, March 11 -- A shortage of commercial LPG cylinders, linked to disruptions in global oil and gas supply amid rising tensions in West Asia, has begun to affect restaurants and roadside food stalls across Kolkata.

The situation has forced several small eateries to increase food prices, while some fear they may have to shut down operations if the supply crisis continues.

The scarcity comes at a time when the price of cooking gas is already rising.
